Office 365 Is Available!

We are pleased to announce that Office 365 is now available for all Tri-County Students, Faculty and Staff. 

What is Office 365?
Office 365 is a collection of online, cloud-based applications, including online storage with the One Drive application. Office 365 in the cloud means that you can access the well-known office applications from any device just by using a web browser.  No need to worry if office is installed on the device, the cloud version of office allows instant access to the office applications and all your files.  In addition to the online apps, you may also download the desktop version of Microsoft Office Professional Plus for use on your personal devices.  Up to 5 installations are allowed and can be managed through your Office 365 account.  So, with your account you have the benefit of the always available from any device cloud version of Office applications as well as the desktop versions of office applications for your personal devices.

Also, included with your Office365 account is Skype.  Skype is a powerful collaboration application that includes chatting, video and screen sharing.  You can access Skype from any computer that has office installed.  It is also included with the desktop version of office for your personal computers as well as free mobile Skype apps are available for your phone.  Note that for the mobile version Microsoft is going through a name change for the application and the app may be named Lync.  Once you sign in with your Tri-County email address and password you will be able to easily collaborate with all Students, Faculty and Staff as well as other Skype users outside of Tri-County Technical College.

To get started:
To login, go to https://portal.office.com.  Enter your @tctc.edu email address, you will be automatically redirected to the Tri-County Technical College authentication page.  Enter your Tri-County username and password and click “Sign In” to be redirected to your personal Office 365 homepage.

After you Log In:
Click on the One Drive application first to complete provisioning your account (this may take a few minutes) then you can begin using all the Office 365 applications and saving your files to One Drive to access from anywhere on any device.  You can access all online applications from the home screen or clicking the grid menu in the top left of your screen.

Install Office on your personal device:
First be sure to log into Office 365 from your personal device.  Once logged in you will see an Install Now button to download the desktop office applications for your personal devices.  When you click on the Install Now button the download will begin.  You can install office on up to 5 devices.
